Akana, a Native American owned A/E firm headquartered in Portland, OR, is seeking to add a Mid-Level Civil Engineer

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects
  • Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in planning stages and risk analysis
  • Compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies
  • Oversee material testing (including soils)
  • Provide cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labor
  • Work on projects that involve the construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of public and private infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering
  • PE License or ability to obtain one within one year
  • Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
