Akana Receives Honor Award from ACEC

The annual ACEC-Oregon Engineering Excellence Awards banquet held on January 18 at the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland.  The event showcases interesting and noteworthy projects completed by local engineering companies.   Akana has participated in past nominations and has been part of several winning projects…but often as a subconsultant and under our previous names.  Our status as a Disadvantaged Business and Minority Business Enterprise has allowed us to join many teams and be recognized for our contributions, such as the T.Y. Lin International, Tilikum Crossing for TriMet.

This year, Akana entered our own project, the Tsaile Dam Rehabilitation project, which was recently completed for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.  While we did not receive the Project of the Year (that was reserved for the Sellwood Bridge project in southeast Portland, which admittedly is a well-deserved honor for a very complex and involved effort), Akana did receive an Honor Award.

Work was performed under Akana’s Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity A/E services contract with the BIA Division of Water and Power.   Click here for more information, or contact Akana’s Project Manager and Paul Kluvers at Paul.Kluvers@akana.us.

Terry is the Akana Business Development Manager. Terry has over 30 years of experience working in the environmental, engineering and construction management field.
