Akana would like to add a civil engineer with EIT or PE licensure and at least 3 years of experience to its staff. The ideal candidate will have a broad-based experience and interest in a variety of civil and water system design tasks and projects. Duties will include preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and permit applications for land development such as LID designs, site grading, utilities and roadway designs, and other design and permitting projects. As part of project teams, the candidate will coordinate and communicate with clients, reviewing agencies, sub-consultants and contractors, and others. The candidate will have opportunities to perform construction administration duties including site visits, construction coordination meetings, inspections, and other related tasks.
The ideal candidate will further have demonstrated experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Site Engineering & Land Development. Civil 3D design experience shall include knowledge of functions of alignments, profile views, corridors, and road assemblies, and have experience in using Civil 3D’s grading creation tools and feature lines to create TIN surfaces and to complete earthwork, and cut & fill calculations. Additional proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel and Word, clear oral and written communication skills, and ability to quickly learn new programs to perform other design tasks are highly desired.
Akana is looking for an HR Generalist who will work under the direction of the HR Manager in overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource functions. HR Generalist will be responsible for new employee onboarding, administration of company policies, recruitment, COBRA, benefit administration, separations, and personnel changes.
Looking for a conscientious, detail-oriented Civil Designer experienced in site layout, grading, earthwork computations, and road and utility design. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, based upon general instructions provided by engineer, architect, and/or project manager. This is not a redline drafting position – the position requires critical thinking and the confidence to make and defend decisions made throughout the design process. Position requires the flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of client design and drafting standards. Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD and AutoDesk Civil 3D is required. MicroStation and ArcView experience is not required, but would be a plus. The ideal candidate would also possess experience and familiarity with architectural and structural design.
SE Washington Operations Manager
Akana is looking for a Chemical or Mechanical Engineer with at least 15 years of experience and at least 10 years of experience supporting work at U.S. Department of Energy Hanford site. The ideal candidate will have a broad background of business development, project management, and quality control experience supporting the U.S. Department of Energy clients. The candidate also must demonstrate experience with the design and construction process systems, civil infrastructure, and environmental remediation projects involving radiation and nuclear safety requirements. The position requires coordination and communication with clients, reviewing agencies, sub consultants, and more. This position may start as part-time growing into full-time for the candidate with the right skills and experience.
Akana is always looking for skilled Construction Inspectors to join our team. Construction Inspectors will be required to use survey instruments, metering devices, tape measures, and test equipment, such as concrete strength measurers, to perform inspections. Inspect bridges, dams, highways, buildings, wiring, plumbing, electrical circuits, sewers, heating systems, and foundations during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to specifications and codes. Maintain daily logs and supplement inspection records with photographs. Review and interpret plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations. Inspect and monitor construction sites to ensure adherence to safety standards, building codes, and specifications. Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures and fixtures to ensure compliance to building plans and codes. Issue notices and stop-work orders, conferring with owners, violators, and authorities to explain regulations and recommend rectifications.
Akana is looking for a mechanical engineer, PE preferred, with at least 10 years of commissioning experience to support various systems at SeaTac Airport. Function as assistant to Resident Engineer and act on the RE’s behalf when so delegated by the RE. The RE will assign specific responsibilities to the ME which may include, but is not limited to: Providing assistance in coordinating field operations, community relations and 3rd Party issues; manage permit conditions compliance; perform inspection and recording duties; and provide technical expertise on construction and contract matters.
