The Alcantar-Akana Joint Venture was awarded a $9.4M contract to provide Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) Services to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District. The 3-year contract covers work throughout the District, as well as the neighboring Portland and Seattle Districts.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) approved and registered the JV, led by Alcantar and Associates, an 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), registered Economically Disadvantage Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), and self-certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB). The JV with Akana was established to pursue QAR Services contract. With SBA’s approval and USACE award, the JV can now enter into a formal contract with the government, and work is expected to begin this winter.
Headquartered in the Portland metropolitan area, Alcantar has served numerous government agencies since 1999. Within the last eight years, they have provided construction phase services to Tri-Met, the Oregon Department of Transportation, the Bureau of Reclamation and the USACE Portland District allowing steady growth and increased capacity. The JV will use the resources of the Akana office in Pasco, Washington, enabling the JV to coordinate and readily respond to task assignments within the USACE Walla Walla office. Akana’s VP Tim Oliver will mentor Alcantar in the technical and financial management of the JV and contract.
The ALCANTAR-AKANA Joint Venture provides a highly flexible team with years of relevant experience working with USACE. The JV can effectively perform 51-percent of the work as an 8(a), EDWOSB, and VOSB.
