Construction Manager - United States

Akana, a Native American-owned multi-discipline consulting firm with a diverse portfolio of clients and projects throughout the United States, is seeking to add a Construction Manager to our firm.

Qualifications:

The minimum required qualifications for this position are shown below:

  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field, or a combination of relevant training and experience
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience
  • Valid driver’s license and transportation
  • Must be able to pass a federal background and drug test

 

In addition to the required qualifications the following skills are preferable:

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
    • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
    • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
    • Familiarity with construction management software packages
    • Competent in conflict and crisis management

 

General Responsibilities are:

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers, subcontractors,
  • Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance
  • Review the work progress on daily basis
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
  • Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Extended travel may be required
