Contracts & Risk Management Compliance Manager- OR | WA | Hybrid

Akana, a Native American-owned multi-discipline consulting firm with a diverse portfolio of clients and projects throughout the United States, is seeking to add a Contracts & Risk Management Compliance Manager to our firm. 

This position is full-time and considered a hybrid position, where some in-office or travel may be required.

 

The minimum required qualifications for this position are shown below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a closely related field of study required.
  • Master’s degree in Law or Finance or a closely related field of study preferred, or an equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Strong proficiency in federal contracting rules and regulations.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of related experience with managing a contract department required.
  • NCMA Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) required or the ability to obtain within the first six months of employment.

 

In addition to the required qualifications the following skills are preferable:

  • Ten plus (10+) years of industry experience preferred.
  • Certification as a qualified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), preferred.

 

General Responsibilities are:

  • Manages significant, and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedure.
  • Provides contractual guidance to organization and its divisions to ensure compliance that is in alignment with the company’s strategic plan. 
  • Manages contract change control process.
  • Develops negotiation strategy and leads negotiation team on complex contractual issues.
  • Analyzes new law, regulation and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives.
  • Provides authoritative guidance to internal business teams on corporate goals and objectives relating to contract activity.
  • Assists in identification, development and implementation of new contract and risk policy and processes. 
  • Establishes highest-level contract strategy and drives implementation of strategic contract opportunities with the most significant impact to the company.
  • Provides contractual domain expertise in implementation, execution and administration.
  • Maintains an awareness of regulatory changes and their impact on contracts, including export considerations.
  • Identifies contract issues and responds to a variety of complex inquiries while providing oversight in developing an innovative solution.
  • Develop risk control and management strategies. 
  • Evaluate the current risk management processes and determine their effectiveness in a future scenario.
  •  Provides leadership about the current and potential risks through reports, documentation and presentations.
  • Ensure that the company meets its legal and regulatory risk requirements.
  • Study market trends and implement the learnings into the risk management processes of the company.
  • Prepare risk contingency plans to tackle future risk management issues.

The salary range for this position is $125-$135K annually.
