Employee Engagement Specialist
Akana, a Native American-owned multi-discipline consulting firm with a diverse portfolio of clients and projects throughout the United States, is seeking to add an Employee Engagement Specialist to our firm. This position is categorized as full-time.
A hybrid schedule reporting to our Portland, Oregon office.
The minimum required qualifications for this position are shown below:
- Associate degree in business management, human resource management, or other related field, Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree
- Three to five years of related experience
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP professional designations preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases
- Familiarity with social media recruiting
- Excellent communication skills
General Responsibilities are: 1st part of the position will focus on Talent Acquisition
- Champion the complete hiring process, including scheduling interviews, handling candidate communication and feedback, and conducting reference and background checks, onboarding, I9s, and new employee setup
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive onboarding program that is in alignment with the company’s culture, supports new employees through the first 90-days, and sets them up for long-term success with the organization.
- Craft job ads and interview question kits
- Analyze recruitment metrics, like time-to-hire and source of hire
- Organize and attend HR events (job fairs, career days, in-house recruitment events)
- Source candidates online and offline
- Implement and monitor Akana’s intern program
- Establish assessment methods to test candidates on job-related skills (e.g. computer skills test, role-playing activities)
- Form strong relationships with past applicants and passive candidates for future opportunities
2nd portion of this role will be focused on Employee Engagement
- Creates, implements, and manages employee engagement, retention, and programs in partnership with the human resources team.
- Help develop and implement the company’s diversity initiatives and strategies to maintain a diverse workplace.
- Conducts stay interviews and exit interviews
- Manages, tracks, and reports on key turnover and retention metrics and utilizes metrics to identify trends and to make recommendations.
- Assists the CPO in developing and implementing programs for internal growth opportunities
- Assist in developing and implementing Akana’s mentoring program
- Facilitates training programs for leaders at all levels of the organization on employee engagement and retention strategies.
- Builds relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and serves as an ambassador for team members.
- Participates as a member of the PEER committee and implements recognition and appreciation programs across the organization.
The salary for this position is competitive and based on experience, location, and education. The salary range is 55K-65K.
