Pendleton, Oregon
Akana provided civil and structural engineering for a new construction on a vacant, steeply sloping site at the southeastern edge of Pendleton, Oregon. This site is currently two lots with City right-of-way in the middle that will be obtained by the owner and combined with the two lots into one parcel. The new construction will consist of five buildings (A, B, C, D, and E). Buildings A, B, C and D are residential-only with stacked flats on either side of a common exterior breezeway. The breezeway is covered by a common roof between the two buildings with open portions flanked by decorative wood trusses. Whereas, building E will be a community space. The designs will meet local codes, tribal needs, and ADA requirements, while coordinating with local utility on design requirements for connection of water, fire protection, stormwater (drainage), and sanitary sewer.
