Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) Closure Oversight Inspector

Akana, a Native American-owned multi-discipline consulting firm with a diverse portfolio of clients and projects throughout the United States, is seeking to add a Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) Closure Oversight Inspector to our firm.  Akana acts as Independent Colorado-Registered Professional Engineer for the Bechtel Pueblo Team and will be providing certification support during plant closure. This position is full time on site at the Pueblo Chemical Depot in Pueblo, Colorado.

To begin, schedule is four, 10-hour days.

The PCAPP Closure Oversight Inspector will be responsible for quality activities and coordination with client, contractors, and regulators.

Qualifications:

The minimum required qualifications for this position are shown below:

  • BS degree in construction management, engineering or related field or combination of relevant training and experience.
  • 0- 3 years of experience
  • Database management skills
  • Construction management processes, means and methods
  • Strong safety culture and drug screening
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of times

In addition to the required qualifications the following skills are necessary:

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Time-management skills
  • Must be a US Citizen 

General Responsibilities are:

  • Demolition oversight, observation, and documentation
  • Quality assurance oversight
  • Environmental oversight
  • Direct interface with clients
  • File management
  • Internal and external daily reports
  • Plan to prevent problems and resolve emerging issues

The salary for this position is competitive and based on experience and education. The salary range is $25 hourly to $35 hourly. Akana offers full benefits including healthcare, 401k with match (after one year), short- and long-term disability insurance, and a generous PTO program!
