Senior Civil Engineer
Are you ready to take your career to the next level with a forward-thinking, Native American-owned multi-disciplinary consulting firm? Akana is seeking an experienced licensed Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Portland office.
This position is considered full-time position, in office days and travel may be required and requested.
This role will provide technical leadership and expertise for complex civil engineering projects, including infrastructure development, transportation systems, water resources, and site development. This position requires a seasoned professional with at least 15 years of technical experience capable of guiding project teams, ensuring engineering excellence, and mentoring junior staff.
Minimum Required Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required; Master’s degree or additional specialized education preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or able to obtain within 6 months.
- Minimum of 15 years of technical experience in civil engineering.
- Extensive expertise in civil engineering design, analysis, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated success in leading technical teams and managing complex engineering projects.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other related design tools.
- Ability to travel as necessary for site visits, project meetings, and client engagements.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead technical aspects of civil engineering projects from initial planning through design and construction.
- Perform advanced engineering analyses, designs, and reviews to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee the development of detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct site inspections and evaluations to ensure project quality and adherence to design specifications.
- Contribute to business development efforts, proposal preparation, and client presentations.
- Stay abreast of current industry standards, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.
