Part Time Technical Editor

Akana is seeking an experienced Technical Editor to join our dynamic team!
Do you possess a strong command of language, have excellent communication skills, and are you adept at mastering different voices (whether it is technical writing, marketing copy or journalistic content – switching between styles is key)? This position is part-time with the potential to turn into full-time work and is considered a remote position.

What You’ll Do:
- Copyedit documents, including proposals, technical reports, resumes, policies, and other internal and external business material, as requested, to produce high-quality, professional communications
- Proofread documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting
- Write, edit, or revise supporting content for written products and material prepared by other authors
- Manage and continuously improve consistency of technical content and its use across all groups and divisions
- Streamline deliverable processes for authors and technical editors by developing templates that are easy to adapt and apply
- Maintain and complete routine updates of the Akana Style Guide collaboratively with the Corporate Quality Manager, Chief Operations Officer, and Division Vice Presidents
- Assist the Corporate Quality Manager in evaluating quality program metrics and key performance indicators related to quality control reviews of written deliverables
- Provide routine training to Akana staff on specific aspects of the Akana Style Guide and good technical writing practices

Minimum Required Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or another communications-related field, or in a technical field (for example, engineering or science) with extensive additional writing and editing training
- Minimum 10 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Experience preparing engineering or scientific documents preferred
- Attention to detail
