SeaTac Construction Inspection – Port of Seattle

Akana supported Parametrix as a subconsultant on the Port of Seattle’s ongoing improvements at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). This work, part of Project 557-1562-154, contributed to a multi-phase program to upgrade airfield infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency. The project required strict adherence to safety, security, and FAA standards while operating within an active airport environment.

Akana provided night shift construction inspection services to ensure compliance with contract documents, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities included monitoring contractor activities, verifying quality control procedures, reviewing field conditions, tracking quantities, and documenting progress using Port-mandated systems. The team maintained clear communication with Port staff and the prime consultant to support timely decision-making and ensure airfield safety during off-hour construction windows.

Through diligent oversight and collaboration, Akana helped maintain project quality and schedule while minimizing operational disruptions. The team’s attention to detail and commitment to safety contributed to the successful execution of critical airfield improvements.
