David Guseman

David brings more than 25 years of construction experience as a skilled tradesman, superintendent, manager, and project executive. He has led projects across delivery methods including design/build, design-bid-build, and CMAR, with extensive expertise managing quality, safety, and governance for both general contractors and subcontractors. His background spans all construction disciplines, with specialized experience in electrical systems—covering low, medium, and high voltage, transmission, distribution, and controls.

His project portfolio includes heavy civil, historic rehabilitation, multi-story, and new construction, using methods ranging from structural steel and concrete to mechanical, plumbing, and finishes. He has successfully delivered projects for the State of Illinois Capital Development Board, the Chicago Department of Aviation, the Public Building Commission, and METRA. Known for fostering collaborative teams and prioritizing safety and quality, David leads Akana’s Chicago Construction Services group, specializing in transit and transportation projects.
