Shinnecock Westwoods Travel Center

Akana provided structural engineering design and drawings for the development of the Shinnecock Westwoods Travel Center on approximately nine acres of land near Newton Road and Sunrise Highway in Hampton Bays, New York. The project scope includes a single-story, 10,762-square-foot travel center, a fueling canopy, and a partially covered smoke shop drive-thru. Additional planned site features include below-grade fuel storage tanks, a trash enclosure, electrical generator enclosure, propane tank, air and water stations, parking areas, and site improvements. The design also incorporates access to the existing frontage road and an area reserved for future semi-truck parking and fueling.

Akana’s role focused on delivering structural solutions that support the diverse components of the site, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with project requirements. The structural design accommodates specialized enclosures, fueling infrastructure, and the main building, contributing to a comprehensive plan for the property.
