Herb Fricke, PE Named to Oregon 250

At Akana, we believe that strong leadership and a commitment to excellence are the foundation of success. That’s why we’re proud to share that our CEO, Herb Fricke, PE has been recognized by the Daily Journal of Commerce as one of Oregon’s most influential professionals in their prestigious Oregon 250 list.
The Oregon 250 honors exceptional leaders who are driving innovation, creating jobs, building communities, and making Oregon a better place to live and work. Herb’s inclusion in this list is a testament to his vision and dedication to the A/E/C industry.
With more than 25 years of experience as an engineering consultant, Herb considers his greatest accomplishment to be building a thriving business that now employs 170 talented professionals. “Our success depends on the trust of our clients and the support of my staff,” Herb says. “We strive to always be at the forefront for our clients. Our reputation is the most precious thing we have. Without a good reputation, you will not have repeat clients or be able to win new ones.”
Herb emphasizes the importance of a team that loves what they do. At Akana, employees are consistently recognized for their contributions, incentivized for success, and encouraged to pursue projects that inspire them. “We also support employees to continue building their skills and take advantage of opportunities to advance their careers,” he adds.
Akana is proud to be an active member of organizations that promote diversity and inclusion, including the National Association of Minority Contractors, Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs, Northwest Native American Chamber, Native American Youth and Family Center, and the American Indian Science and Engineering Society.
