About Herb

Herb Fricke is a licensed civil and environmental engineer with more than 25 years of experience delivering infrastructure solutions for public and private clients across the western United States. As one of Akana’s Tribal liaisons, Herb specializes in water and wastewater systems, transportation design, large-scale site development, and managing IDIQ contracts at federal, state, and local levels.

A member of the Three Affiliated Tribes (Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation) of Fort Berthold, North Dakota, Herb is a trusted leader in tribal infrastructure and governance. He has facilitated public meetings, led cultural competency training, and built strong partnerships with tribal leaders and enterprises throughout the Pacific Northwest and Washington State. Herb’s deep understanding of tribal governance and government-to-government relationships ensures every project is guided by technical excellence and cultural respect.
