About Joelle

Joëlle has over 20 years of experience as an architect and project manager, working on a variety of projects including multi-family housing, federal work, large-scale urban projects, master planning, and adaptive reuse of historic buildings. Her deep understanding of the built environment, along with extensive experience managing complex projects, provides her with unique skills to help clients plan and develop thorough, technical, and compelling project scopes for competitive applications.

At Akana, Joëlle is the grant funding group manager, providing grant writing, funding and management to Tribal communities nationwide to fund their priorities including natural resources, cultural facilities, food sovereignty, resilience to climate change, and infrastructure including water/wastewater systems, roadways and transportation planning, energy, and telecommunications.

Joëlle sees her work in grant writing as a progression of her expertise while focusing on the most impactful and enjoyable phases of projects; working directly with communities to envision beneficial, sustainable, and exciting projects.
