About Troy
Troy brings more than four decades of experience in commissioning (Cx), mechanical-electrical (ME) systems, and integrated system design. As Akana’s Commissioning, Energy and MEP Services Group Manager, he leads cross-disciplinary teams to ensure building systems aren’t just installed to spec—they’re optimized to perform efficiently and reliably across their entire lifecycle.
Over the years, Troy has developed functional test procedures, technical specifications, emergency system protocols, training plans, and maintenance plans for a wide range of facilities. He’s led and performed commissioning and retro-commissioning services on nearly 150 projects nationwide, overseeing over $22 million in commissioning fees for clients across the commercial, institutional, tribal, and federal sectors.
His multi-discipline team provides a full range of commissioning, mechanical-electrical design, and energy consulting services, including:
- MEP system design, code/peer reviews, and feasibility studies
- Full, Retro-, Re-, and Continuous Commissioning (Cx)
- Contractor coordination and construction-phase support
- LEED / ASHRAE 90.1 compliance and state-specific energy code review (e.g., Title 24, CBPS)
- ASHRAE Level I–III audits and energy modeling
- Renewable energy feasibility for solar, wind, geothermal, and CHP
- EV charging infrastructure, PV and battery storage system design
- Arc flash and fault coordination studies
- Life Cycle Cost Analysis, GHG calculations, and Measurement and Verification (M&V) studies
