Akana was part of the design-build team led by BNBuilders and included NBBJ, which helped expand the Yellowhawk facility. It was the first time the team worked together, and it was a great success. By working closely with the owner, we kept the facility operational while adding the Elder entrance, lab space, examination rooms for additional services, and storage, all of which was completed in about a year. We transformed the back door into a front entrance and created a flush transition protected from the elements so patients can access the facility as easily as possible.
