Emergency Command Operations Building Design
Project Details
Akana led a multidisciplinary team to design a new 14,000-square-foot, single-story facility dedicated to emergency command operations. The building includes an emergency operations center, training rooms, offices, electrical and mechanical rooms, and a kitchen/break room. Site improvements incorporated grading, stormwater collection, xeriscaping, and an antenna equipment yard. The design reflects LEED Gold principles and complies with Federal High Performance Sustainable Building (HPSB) standards, ensuring sustainability and resilience.
As the contract holder, Akana provided project management along with structural and civil engineering services. Our team coordinated design development across disciplines and ensured compliance with performance and sustainability requirements. Akana also supported the project through construction administration and building commissioning oversight as it advanced to the bidding phase.
Through integrated planning and technical expertise, Akana delivered a design that meets operational needs while promoting energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.
