Indian Health Service Regional Facility Condition Assessments – Department of Health and Human Services
Project Details
Akana is delivering a multi-year program of facility condition assessments for the Indian Health Service (IHS) Phoenix Area Office, covering medical and residential facilities across eight service units. The portfolio includes more than 836,000 square feet of buildings, supporting IHS’s mission to provide safe, compliant, and functional healthcare and housing environments.
In addition to standard facility condition assessments, Akana is conducting environmental audits that review hazardous and medical waste handling, hazardous materials management, air emissions, wastewater and stormwater systems, and compliance with federal, state, and tribal regulations. Each report summarizes findings from both the facility and environmental evaluations, provides detailed housing unit condition data, and includes root cause analysis with recommended corrective actions for identified deficiencies. Reports are delivered in multiple formats to ensure seamless integration into IHS asset management systems, enabling informed decision-making for maintenance and capital planning.
