Waste Water Treatment Plant Headworks Retrofit
Project Details
The City of Marysville Wastewater Treatment Plant Headworks project involved critical upgrades to the existing WWTP to improve efficiency and reliability. The scope included demolition and replacement of the Palmer-Bowlus flume manhole, installation of bypass pumping, and removal of outdated equipment such as screens, washer/compactor, Parshall flume, controls, and overflow pipeline at the headworks structure. These improvements were essential to modernize the plant’s operations and support the city’s growing infrastructure needs.
Akana provided comprehensive construction management and document control services throughout the project. Our team reviewed submittals, RFIs, and change requests, ensuring compliance with contract drawings and specifications. Akana worked closely with the Engineer of Record and the City to secure timely approvals and maintain project momentum. The Construction Manager oversaw testing of the new SCADA system, monitored schedule adherence, and facilitated weekly coordination meetings with the City and contractors. Additionally, Akana managed utility coordination, testing facilities, and subcontractor activities to keep the project on track.
Akana’s document control team supported the project by preparing meeting minutes, logging and tracking all submittals, RFIs, and changes. Through proactive management and collaboration, Akana helped deliver a successful upgrade to the City of Marysville’s wastewater treatment infrastructure.
