Akana partnered with Portland Metro to deliver environmental due diligence services supporting real estate transactions and affordable housing initiatives. This work ensures informed decisions that advance redevelopment goals and strengthen community housing efforts.
Our team performed Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments across urban and rural properties, identifying recognized environmental conditions, data gaps, and business environmental risks. When issues such as underground and aboveground storage tanks, contaminated soils, and treated wood piles were discovered, Akana mobilized quickly to conduct geophysical surveys, soil investigations, and rapid laboratory analysis to meet tight real estate deadlines.
Through clear findings and actionable recommendations, Akana provided Metro with the information needed to address environmental concerns and move projects forward. This collaborative approach helped mitigate risks and maintain momentum for critical housing and redevelopment initiatives.
