Ute Tribe Long Range Transportation Plan Update

Project Details

Akana is working with the Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation to update its Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), a critical tool for guiding future infrastructure investments and supporting long-term land use objectives. The plan will address transportation needs that provide access to housing, commercial areas, and governmental facilities across the reservation.

As part of this effort, Akana is assessing the Tribe’s overall road network to identify improvements that align with growth and development priorities. Our team is also updating the Tribe’s Road Inventory in the Road Inventory Field Data System (RIFDS), evaluating roadway conditions, and identifying potential traffic and pedestrian safety concerns. In addition, Akana is helping define priority projects, establish timelines, and outline funding strategies to ensure successful implementation.

Through collaborative planning and technical expertise, Akana is supporting the Tribe in creating a transportation system that enhances safety, accessibility, and connectivity for its communities.
