Facility Condition Assessor / QC Analyst

This position is full-time with immediate availability.

This role will include a blend of field and home/office-based work.

General Responsibilities:

  • Field Work:
    • Complete comprehensive assessments and engineering evaluations of built infrastructure, including condition, functionality, safety, energy, and space utilization
    • Assess architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and site systems
    • Identify, photograph and document facility operation and maintenance deficiencies and component replacement opportunities
    • Review construction drawings to determine building construction and equipment types/quantities
    • Work at rural/remote job sites as part of a team
    • Access mechanical/electrical rooms, occupied spaces, building roofs, and exterior site systems in a variety of building types, including educational, healthcare, housing, retail space, warehouse, police/fire, office space, and recreational facilities
    • Be able to travel up to 30% of the time across the United States
  • Office Work:
    • Review data for adherence to data collection, management, quality control and reporting practices.
    • Support teams collecting, reviewing, and reporting on data for multiple projects, ensuring contract requirements and quality standards are maintained.
    • Work with the QC and Reporting Manager and Akana Quality Management team to establish appropriate quality assurance practices for facility assessment and similar projects.
    • Develop cost estimates to correct identified building deficiencies
    • Prepare reports that document findings

Successful employees will be adept at handling multiple projects in a condensed timeframe to meet strict deadlines, detail-oriented, and will be able to work remotely in the field in all weather conditions with minimal supervision.

 

 

Qualifications:

At a minimum, you should have experience in construction, facility maintenance, architecture, engineering, or a related field. College education in facilities management, construction, or an associated architecture/engineering field is a plus.

Other requirements for this position:

  • Ability to obtain security clearances on an as needed basis per client requirements.
  • Willingness to learn industry standard vocabulary and technical terminology (ASTM E1557 Uniformat II and ASTM E2018 Property Condition Assessment standards).
  • Must have a professional attitude and ability to represent the company to our clients.
  • Interpersonal skills to work on cross-functional project teams that vary in scope.
  • Ability to become proficient in the use of facility condition assessment software on tablet and laptop PC.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent scheduling skills
  • Proficiency in juggling multiple project deadlines
  • Expertise with HVAC, electrical and/or plumbing systems strongly desired.
  • Documented experience with quality control and reporting of FCA project data is preferred.

The salary for this position is competitive and based on experience, location and education. The range is 55K-75K yearly.
