Senior Electrical Engineer - OR | WA | Hybrid

Akana, a Native American-owned multi-discipline consulting firm with a diverse portfolio of clients and projects throughout the United States, is seeking to add a Senior Electrical Engineer to our firm.  This position is full-time with immediate availability.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will apply the principles of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism to develop electrical products and systems.

The minimum required qualifications for this position are shown below:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field
  • Professional Licensure required
  • 10-15 years’ minimum experience
  • Sustainable Energy Integration Design experience
  • Knowledgeable in CAD or Revit
  • Demonstrated electrical design experience in facility and building power distribution systems, lighting and lighting controls, and other low voltage systems typical for buildings and commercial facilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams congruently

General Responsibilities are:

  • Independently applies knowledge of current principles and processes
  • Supervise and lead major projects and teams to ensure the execution of multiple tasks and project work is done accurately and timely
  • Review complete projects for conformity and quality assurance
  • Serve as a technical specialist or advisor on electrical engineering-related issues
  • Assist in preparing proposals: Review and approves budgets, project schedules, scope of work
  • Use design software to plan and design different systems in line with codes and professional standards
  • Collaborate and interact with construction teams, architects and outside project developers and consultants
  • Mentor other engineers by providing guidance throughout the project to completion
  • Routinely lead project meetings, conduct project presentations, and interact with clients, customers, contractors, and other officials
  • Initiates and maintains contacts with key personnel within the industry to assist in business development activities
  • Perform ASHRAE Level 1 and 2 Energy Audits
  • Experience in performing the commissioning of electrical systems, including the development of functional performance tests and related reports.
  • Experience in performing circuit coordination studies preferred
  • Arc flash study certification is preferred
  • LEED certification is preferred
  • 25-30% travel time may be required

The salary for this position is competitive and based on experience, location, and licensure. Salary range 115k – 130K subject change with market.
