Akana, a Native American-owned multi-discipline consulting firm with a diverse portfolio of clients and projects throughout the United States, is seeking to add a Systems Administrator to our firm.  This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, with hours between 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional after-hours or weekend work.

Qualifications:

The minimum required qualifications for this position are shown below:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft based environments
• Minimum 5+ years of experience
• Ability to work independently with general supervision
• Solid Cloud experience in Azure AD and O365
• Experience with virtualization and containerization in Hyper-V
• Experience with monitoring systems
• Experience with Intune a plus
• Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53 and 800-171 publications

• Time-management skills

General Responsibilities are:

• Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
• Architect IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals
• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
• Write and maintain custom PowerShell scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on tasks
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
• Provide 1^st & 2^nd level support for end users
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
• Assist in further developing cybersecurity policies and strategies
• Limited travel may be required to support some IT projects
